antique shopping...

So since moving into a new place, I've been super keen to deck my walls in cute things to warm up all the beige and magnolia. The Boyperson and I went for a wonder around the town for charity shops and stumbled upon a beaaaaaautiful antique shop that had me salivating! We had a good rummage, I simply neeeeeed that Banjolele, it's beautiful! Such good inspiration being surrounded by shiny treasures.

velvet vans and chicken...

Meet my lovely boyfriend Curt. We spent Wednesday doing what we do best: eating lots of chicken. It was safe enough weather to wear my favourite shoes! I picked up these red velvet Vans on sale in an outlet store when visiting Florida over Christmas and they were such a crafty find. The only other place I've seen them is on Tumblr in a glorious petrol-blue shade but I imagine they would be trickier to wear with blue denim.
I know it annoys people when a cult product like Vans become trendy, but I find it kinda funny seeing them all over town. I can't afford to keep up with trends, and most of the time hunt for a quirky alternative instead, but if  trusty, smelly black-but-greying trainers are considered cool, even if only for a couple months, that's fine by me!

good news and flowers...

I've got a job!! Hurrahhh! I don't know about you lot but where I live, getting a job is pretty much impossible. But I was lucky enough to land myself a job as a Sales Consultant!

Can't stop wearing this
Rose-Gold/White ombre H&M necklace, it's definitely fun to play with -an important factor to consider when purchasing jewellery, in my books! There's a pink vibe going on in this post, not a bad thing.

Had my induction on Saturday (aaaagh!) and then went hunting for flowers with Papa, he for the garden, me for the painting, and it made for a rather beautiful, very British-Countryside afternoon. So tomorrow I'll have some time to whip out the watercolours. What a splendid week x

new hair, old necklace...

I went for the chop! After years of trying to fluff up my long fine hair I gave up and went short and lovelove! I feel like the girl from the 1998 movie 'Madeline', in fact I'm starting to pine for buckle shoes and a boater hat for summer. I did actually dye my hair about 3 days before this was taken and it went ten times darker than the box -shame on you L'Oreal Excell 10!- nearly black, but luckily it sucked at staying true as well and washed out. I think a review is in order, what do you guys think?
I've had this necklace for over a year, I found it in a New Look sale for £2 and only just found it the other day when sorting out my uni stuff and I'm in love with how creepy it is. I suppose it suggests that bedroom-tidying is very good for shaking up your wardrobe.

wonder in the woods...

Meet my dog, Fred the Labradoodle. He had a fresh trim today and fancied showing it off so we went for a ramble through the woods. Excuse the dangling camera strap, I am no photographer but I did capture enough to get me in a drawing mood. Aaah Sundays at home are the best!

year one done...

My first year of University is officially finito! I won't miss the horrendous kitchen, but I have a lot of brilliant photos as evidence of some hilarious times. Our flat took pranking to a whole new level (never leave your doors open!). It's such a luxury having all your stuff in one place though, had to paint this little fella with one of my make-up brushes -SOB!- when I left my paintbrushes back home, but he's pretty cute so I'll let him off!

to be shore...

Nothing quite as good for the ol' inspiration as escaping exam revision and fleeing to the beach. Curt and I caught the warmest day to grab a Subway, stop at Poundland for a mat and some Rainbow Drops and catch some rays on Clacton beach. Wish I'd thought to bring a sketchbook along, as there were some lovely sights  lots of small fuzzy dogs and some rather questionable tattoos on display.
